Aespa “Dirty Work” Chart Performance
Aespa has had an interesting year, starting with a scandal that placed Karina at the center of South Korea’s conservative party. The controversy occurred in July, a month before the release of their chart-topping song, "Dirty Work." Despite Karina’s lukewarm apology, their first single of 2025 received a warm welcome fit for June weather.
The song premiered on June 26th. It hit the YouTube Top 10 with both feet on the ground, racking up a cushy 61 million views by September 9th. The track’s chart performance is also an accomplishment. It peaked at number 5 on Billboard Global 200 and number 2 on the Circle Chart. According to the Circle Chart, Dirty Work claimed number 12 in August of 2025.
“Dirty Work” did not do as well as the group’s 2024 release, “Whiplash,” On the Global K-pop Chart. As of September, “Whiplash” is positioned number 17 on the daily chart and number 16 on the weekly chart (August 24th – 30th). Both songs saw a slightly lower chart performance than average due to the absolute juggernaut that has nearly swept the Top 10: the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.
