Global YouTube Outages (10/15/2025)

The message was received by millions of users who attempted to access YouTube content. Whether through the app, a web browser, or a TV, some users experienced glitches, while others did not.
Users have reported that videos start playing only to stop abruptly. After the sudden interruption, a playback ID code appeared on the screen.
Additionally, some users noted that ads would play, but the videos themselves would not. There were also reports of certain videos playing while others failed to do so.
The outages were inconsistent, with some watchers experiencing no interference at all.
According to downdetector.com, there were 37 outage reports on October 15th, 2025, at 6:52 PM; however, this number increased to 34,071 reports by 7:54 PM.
YouTube was down in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, New York, Washington, and Atlanta.
Functions were restored on the East Coast of the United States at 8:20 PM.
