“An error occurred. Please try again later.”
The message was received by thousands of users who attempted to access YouTube content. Whether through the app, a web browser, or a TV, some users experienced glitches, while others did not.
Users have reported that videos start playing only to stop abruptly. After the sudden interruption, a playback ID code appeared on the screen.
Additionally, users noted that ads would play, but the videos themselves would not. There were also reports of certain videos playing while others failed to do so.
The outages were inconsistent, with some watchers experiencing no interference at all.
YouTube stated in a post on X and in the Google Support thread that it is looking into the playback problems occurring on YouTube, YouTube Music, or YouTube TV.
“We’re aware that some of you are experiencing issues watching videos on YouTube, YouTube Music, or YouTube TV. We’re investigating the issue,” YouTube reassured commenters on the Google Support thread.
According to Downdetector, an outage-tracking website, there were 37 outage reports on October 15th, 2025, at 6:52 PM; however, this number increased to 342,071 reports by 7:54 PM.
